Leah Schluter

Leah Schluter

Leah Schluter (she/her) has been dedicated to violence prevention since her undergraduate years at the University of Oregon, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Family and Human Services and was an active member of the Sexual Wellness Advocacy Team. This early involvement was the inspiration for her pursuit of a career in violence prevention and harm reduction. In her career, she has worked in numerous settings to engage youth and adults from diverse communities to discuss systemic change, healthy relationship dynamics, consent, trauma informed response, and intimate partner violence in order to develop contextualized strategies for community led change.

Driven by this belief in the power of community to create change, Leah has worked on numerous campaigns in Oregon, helping to elect state officials and statewide ballot measures to support the well-being of children and families. To further her mission, she earned a Master's in Public Administration from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, aiming to expand her knowledge and network to contribute to create more opportunities for young people across Oregon. To reinforce efforts to address violence in her community, Leah also served as a Medical Advocate with Sexual Assault Support Services, playing a role in assisting individuals in acute crisis or in need of ongoing, trauma-informed support. Beyond her professional commitments, Leah enjoys exploring new coffee shops, embarking on outdoor adventures, and game nights. She is always looking to connect with and learn from others!
