UO Student Leadership: A Community-Campus Partnership
Voices of Change for Child Safety (Voices)
As part of the 90by30 initiative, Voices leverages University of Oregon student talent and resources to advance CSAW’s mission, vision and values. Voices serves as a bridge between Lane County youth and the UO student body in efforts to reduce violence in childhood, youth, and early adulthood.
This student-led organization develops resources that are tailored to student experiences and actively promotes the prevention and recognition of interpersonal violence among youth.
Parent & Community Cafés
Parent & Community Cafés are inspired by the nationally recognized Be Strong Families Parent Café model. Offered bilingually in Spanish and English, Cafés are a space for parents and caregivers to come together to share their strengths and learn from one another. This is a shift from listening to “experts” to drawing on the wealth of knowledge already in the room. Café team members strive to create safe spaces for deep, peer-led conversations about the challenges and joys of caring for children, to support social connections, build self-compassion, and reduce isolation.
Prevention Café: A New Model for Prevention and Advocacy Education
The Café team has developed and piloted a new Café model, the Prevention Café. These events are open to all who care for children and youth and retain the character common to all Cafés - peer based, intentionally inclusive, by-us-for-us. In place of a personal story, the team shares a tool from the research into child, family, and community wellbeing. This model centers around Showing Up for Children and Youth - supporting adults to be the best allies and advocates they can be. In 2025-26, the team looks forward to expanding this model.
Parent & Community Cafés are available online for all Lane County parents and caregivers; in person Cafés are currently held in Eugene and Springfield areas. Mapping Assets for Prevention (MAP) Oregon
CSAW is proud to partner with Prevent Child Abuse Oregon (PCAO) and Our Children Oregon (OCO) on MAP Oregon, a state-wide initiative to begin identifying and strengthening Oregon’s prevention ecosystem with a focus on community voice and cross-sector collaboration.
This report incorporates youth voice through shared collaboration, community organizations, and local prevention leaders. The purpose is to emphasize the significance of relationships, sustainable funding, and locally driven strategies. With these insights, MAP Oregon hopes to lay the foundation for a more connected and accessible approach to prevention across the state.

Cultivate School & Community Learning Collaborative
Cultivate advances the mission of CSAW by providing training and support to community members and school staff. Cultivate invites adults and educational professionals to build relationships with one another, learn or refine skills and share their expertise. Having adults in our communities and schools who feel connected, supported and prepared directly impacts the health of a school system and reduces the risk of harm for students.
Through various courses and learning materials, adults can engage in group or independent learning with ready-to-use materials to guide Professional Development sessions, PTO meetings and community conversations.
Cultivate Connection is a guided learning journey built around a series of five (5) MicroPD videos, each designed to deepen your understanding of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging and how these principles apply in educational and community settings. Whether you are an educator, parent, or community member, this training invites you to reflect on your own experiences, learn practical tools, and build a more inclusive and supportive environment for the youth you care about. This course is available for free through June 2026 for all Oregon Residents through the generosity of the Ford Family Foundation,
Self-Paced Asynchronous Courses for Early Childhood Educators are available to support ECE professionals as they build high-quality, inclusive, supportive classrooms for children. Completion of these courses satisfy various Set One requirements of the Oregon Registry Online.
