Bring CSAW Into Your Work

CSAW works with schools, community organizations, public agencies, funders, and other partners to strengthen prevention, apply research, evaluate programs and initiatives, build professional capacity, and create approaches that fit their communities. Research & Evaluation Partnerships

CSAW partners with schools, community organizations, public agencies, and funders to answer practical questions: Is this working? For whom? Under what conditions? And what should we do next?

As a University of Oregon research center, CSAW combines rigorous research and evaluation with community knowledge and lived experience. We design studies and evaluations around the realities of the people doing the work so findings can support learning, improvement, and decision-making.

Our team has experience in program and developmental evaluation, mixed-methods and longitudinal research, implementation research, measurement development, and qualitative inquiry. Recent projects include a developmental evaluation and outcome study design for myWorth, along with mixed-method research examining belonging, school relationships, help-seeking, and supports for youth experiencing housing insecurity.

Parent & Community Café Partnerships

CSAW helps organizations and communities build Parent & Community Café programming that strengthens connection, peer support, and protective factors for families. CSAW has supported Parent & Community Café implementation since 2019.

Participant feedback helps shape Café content and structure over time. What parents and caregivers say is useful, what they want to explore, and how they experience the Cafés informs how the team develops and adapts the work.

What CSAW Can Provide

  • Customized Café design and implementation support
  • Train-the-Trainer capacity building
  • Trauma-informed and resilience-oriented facilitation
  • Culturally responsive and inclusive implementation
  • Support grounded in the Strengthening Families Protective Factors Framework
  • Evaluation and implementation guidance
  • Flexible partnership models tailored to local needs

Cafés can complement existing family, school, or community programming by creating ongoing opportunities for caregivers to build relationships, reinforce learning, and develop peer support networks that continue beyond a single event or training.

CSAW can work with partners to adapt the model to their setting, build local facilitation capacity, and support implementation in ways that fit the community.
